Telangana Polikeka & Jamat-e-Islami Hind rallies today
The 'Telangana Polikeka' being conducted by Kakatiya University and 'Telangana Garjana' by Jamat-e-Islami Hind are being conducted today.
The Telangana Polikeka would be conducted in the Kakatiya University from 3 to 7 PM. The High Court has given permission for the Polikeka with some conditions. Only the students are allowed to attend meeting and no political leaders are to be be allowed in the meeting. Speaking today on the occasion, the Kakatiya University JAC has claimed that unlike the Andhra students who are 'tricky' they do not know any tricks and are open hearted.
A group of OU JAC leaders are on a padayatra in the 10 districts of the region and their padayatra will culminate in Warangal today in Kakatiya University.
Jamaat-E-Islami Hind is organizing a public meeting 'Telangana Garjana' in Hyderabad in support of separate statehood today in Nizam grounds.
The meeting will be addressed by political, non-political persons with an aim to get justice for Telangana, a Jamaat release said today.
The meeting to be held at Nizam college grounds will put forth the Jamaat's commitment for Telangana state, for curtailing backwardness of the region and to provide people of Telangana their due rights and justice, it said.
But the main Muslim party MIM has decided to go against the Telangana state formation. It is learnt that the MIM fears that in a separate Telangana state the old wounds like that incidents like the Razakar movement would be revived by Hindu outfits like BJP and target the Muslims.
