Jharkhand government will ensure strict implementation of Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act to ensure growth of dairy farm in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Raghuvar Das today said.

"The implementation of the act will help increase dairy products in the state which in turn will help to lift the standard of living of the farmers," he told a seminar here.

Representatives of the farming community and labour organisations were invited by the finance and agriculture departments to elicit their views and know their problems before the state places its annual budget.

Later, replying to a query by newsmen whether ally BJP would suggest inclusion of the Act in the common minimum programme, Das, a senior leader of the party, said it was not necessary.

The Shibu Soren-led ruling coalition, comprising JMM, BJP, AJSU and other small parties, has announced its CMP within a month.
